Juicing Cleanse

I am starting my juicing again! I've tried it with my boyfriend exactly a year ago and we made it through!!! We actually did a 3 day juice fast, which was not fun! The only reason why we got through it was not because of each other's support but because we were both competitive and wanted to beat one another at the discipline game.   While I was on the juice fast, I was not moody or grouchy but rather mellow.  I was constantly fantasizing about eating food and had a minor headache.  My body temperature felt a little colder than normal, probably due to not eating.  When you eat, the body warms up because it is breaking down food.  If you don't eat, there's nothing to process but it can focus on cleansing and detoxing other parts of your body such as, your colon, liver, kidney, skin, etc.  We also both lost 10 lbs each in only 3 days! But it took us awhile to eat real food and drink alcohol after the detox.  This time around, I am going to replace one to two meals a day rather than fasting.

What You'll Need:
  1. Juicer
  2. Fruits/Veggies
  3. Mason Jars
  4. Cutting Board
  5. Knife/Peeler

Health Benefits:
I usually look to see what I have in the fridge and I visit Juice Recipes and check mark the ingredients I have.  The website narrows down what juice recipes you can make with the allowed ingredients and also the benefits you'll be getting with that juice recipe.  There are many health benefits associated with juicing  Below are a few fruits/veggies I like to use but there are other great ones out there :]
  • Apples - good source of fiber, improves digestion, Vitamins A B1 B2 B6
  • Oranges - increase growth of skin and blood cells, boost immune system, Vitamin C & Calcium
  • Celery - decrease blood pressure, reduce stress hormones, helps prevent mutated cells
  • Carrots - anti-aging, glowing skin, cancer prevention, beta-carotene, Vitamin A
  • Kale - reducing risk of heart disease, detoxifies body and liver, Vitamin K
  • Beets - prevents birth defects and heart disease, detoxifies blood and liver, reduce pms cramps
  • Spinach - good for your eyes, aid in age-related illnesses, "nature's master antioxidant", Iron
  • Cucumber - improves: skin, hair, nails, glowing complexion, improves: muscles, bones, tendons, etc.

Tips:
  • Make sure to clean your fruits/veggies prior to juicing.
  • I like to prep all my stuff prior to the juicing process.
  • Fill the juices up to almost the top, leaving very little air to 'spoil' to juice.
  • Close the lid tightly, to ensure that it is airtight.
  • After you're done with your bottles, pop it into the freezer for 20-30 minutes until you can't hear a 'pop' on the lid when you press on it.
  • Transfer the bottles from the freezer to the fridge.
  • Try to drink the juices the sooner the better because there are no preservatives.
  • Keep the juices a maximum of 3 days

The Power of Honey & Cinnamon

Don't you just hate it when you wake up and see an unpleasant surprise on your face? It always sets its camp on the most flattering area of your face, like the tip of your nose, in between your eyebrows, and even a third eye on your forehead. Well no fear!!! This is my go to remedy and you can easily find it in your kitchen! All you need is HONEY & CINNAMON! Honey is an antibacterial agent full of antioxidants. It is great for pimple treatment, it slows down the aging process, clarifies your pores and gives you a glowing complexion! Bet you didn't know all that, was packed in a $2 bottle just sitting in your kitchen ^_-

PIMPLE REMEDY
Spot Treatment
Mix a dab of honey and cinnamon until it becomes a muddy color, then spot treat the pimple overnight. The cinnamon will draw out the gunk in the pimple while the honey moisturizes your skin.

GLOWING SKIN
Face Mask
My affordable and weekly mask! Same process, mix honey and cinnamon until it turns into a muddy color and apply it all over your face and neck. Avoid your eyes and nostrils, you're welcomed to put it over your mouth, it's pretty tasty. Leave the mask on for about 20-30 minutes then wash it off. I usually do this before I'm about to shower so it's not as messy.

IMMUNE BOOSTER
Daily Treat
Take a spoonful of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon daily to boost your immune system and fight the flu/cold and it also gives you energy!!!

There are many more benefits of cinnamon.  I will update more on the list of benefits so stay tuned!

Best Top Coat

Ahhhh I'm in love with this new top coat my mom introduced me too! It goes on smooth and dries fast! It even last as long as 2 weeks! And the best part is, it makes everything look shiny as if you had on gel polish! :] But I have to warn you that it is a bit pricey. The retail price is about $9.99 at Target, Walgreens, etc.. But I suggest you go to a nail supply store and purchase it there. You can get it for a fraction of the price ;]

Garnier Moisture Rescue

OMG!!!! I am in love with this little jar!!! You can find this at Target or any drugstore for about $4-6. It smells very light and fresh as well! :] I usually use Olay Firming Cream for my night time moisturizer but I didn't like how I was always so greasy looking in the morning! But I tried this Garnier product because it was on sale and my skin GLISTENS in the morning!:D And after using it for awhile now, my skin has been noticeably smoother and it does retain moisture for 24 hours! I always had a problem with my nose. It looks fine in the morning then it gets dry later on in the day but not with this product! BTW I use this as my morning and night moisturizer and brownie points for SPF 15! :P

Praying for Japan

I've been glued to CNN all night. My heart goes out to everyone in Japan! I can't imagine how terrifying and scary it is to not be able to contact loved ones or to even mobilize in the city. For those of you who just woke up or living under a rock, Japan was hit with an 8.9 earthquake and there are aftershocks and tsunamis occurring right now! :[

Le Eye Cream

I'm only 23 years old but I do admit, there are times when I look pretty tired and haggard. Sometimes I don't even get carded and my boyfriend teases me all the time! So I set out to look for an eye cream that will change that! I've been using Olay Total Effects Eye Cream for about a month now. I do admit that my eyes are not as puffy anymore. There's also a nice shimmer. I usually apply it at night before bed but sometimes I need a little extra oomph in the morning as well. ;]

Olay Total Effects Eye Transforming Cream

P.S. I get carded every time now ^_-

The Perfect Dress

WOW! I know I'm still young but this dress is GORGEOUS!!! I was browsing online and this popped up out of no where. So please do not be alarmed... ahem bf ⌐___⌐
Anywhoo.. this is EXACTLY how I want my dress in the distant future!!!!

Orofluido

My sister works at a salon so she scored some of this Moroccan Oil for me. If you have dry hair, this is the solution! I have naturally wavy hair so my hair is very fine and dry. But after I used this product I think I'm in ♥♥♥!!!! It's very light and adds shine to my hair. It does not feel or look oily and it makes it easier to brush my hair! I have really bad tangles /)_-

1. Wash hair like the usual

2. Gently towel dry hair

3. Apply from a dime to a quarter size depending on how much hair you have. I also have very thick and long hair so a nickel size is good for me.

4. Brush hair to distribute oil evenly

5. You can either blow-dry or air-dry (what I usually do). Your hair should feel softer and look silkier! :D

P.S. Here is a cheesy promo video -__-

Random Haul

Hehehe sooo I went shopping the other day and found some random accessories!!! I ♥ them and can't wait to wear them this weekend! :D

I'm on the hunt for some bling for VEGAS!!! The owl is so cool! It looks like a chubby owl perched on my finger. The pink flowers look like I'm holding a mini boquet. The earrings are very sparkly but it has a vintage touch. And finally I ♥ my new Sephora Lipstick! It's natural but adds a blissful color and it smells oooo sooo good! :D

Hehehe just a picture of me wearing the lipstick!

I bought a bow necklace similar to this but mine is an oversize regular black bow

5 Easy Steps to Flawless Skin

1. Wash face with a gentle cleanser of choice for the morning. Whichever is best for your skin but I really like Cetaphil for my skin type (oily-dry combination skin) :]

2. I like to use a facial scrub at night to remove my makeup and any excess dirt. Although, this may not be recommended for everyone because it may dry out your skin. I would recommend to use it every other night and use it more or less often according to results. I use St. Ives Arpicot Scrub.

3. Use a moisturizing mask once every week. I use this cheap cucumber mask I found at CVS but it works! :D

4. After you wash your face, take a cotton pad and use a toner over your t-zone or anywhere on your face you think will get dirty. This is a good way to remove blackheads! Look at the cotton pad once you're done and you'll see some blackheads and dirt that was still on your skin even after you just washed your face! =0 I like the Olay refreshing toner.

5. Moisturize!!!!

Aveeno

Beer Does NOT Make You Fat!!!

You heard that right! I've placed myself on a strict NO BEER diet and been working out but nothing seems to change. But in actuality, beer and soda have about the same calories! But there is an ultimate PRO in beer, which is HOPS. Although, it may have a more or less affect on your body fat % but it also has been proven to enlarge your breasts as well! You gain some, you lose some. :D The term Beer Belly has nothing to do with beer but with the stereotypical customs associated with beer. There are usually salty or fattenings snacks such as peanuts and fries served at bars. When bar patrons consume these types of food he or she will have to consume more beer to quench the taste and it also leads to a bigger waistline due to the inactivity during food and beer consumption. So there you have it! You can drink beer but in moderation or make sure there is some sort of physical activity associated such as dancing, etc.
