Are You Wearing Expired Makeup?

I used to think that makeup never expires because you do not consume it. But I was wrong and was disgusted to find out that I was wearing some expired makeup ;\ Oh and when I went to the Fashion District last week, I noticed that they had a lot of MAC and other name brand products but DO NOT buy them. Some of the colors were discontinued awhile back but yet I saw them displayed!!! Oh and btw, if you don't remember where and how long ago you bought your makeup, it's time to throw them out as well! You could get infections from the bacteria buildup in your product! Gross right?! o_O

Sponges: wash weekly & discard monthly

Brushes: Ecotools: Wash every 2-3 months


Nail Polish: Revlon: 1 year


Eyeshadow: MAC Honey Lust: 3 years

Mascara: Maybelline Colossal: 4 months
(depending on how much you pump)


Eye Liner Pencil: Maybelline Unstoppable: 3 Years



Liquid Eyeliner: Loreal: 3-6 months


Lip Liner: Elf Mineral Lip Liner: 3 years

Lipstick: Sephora: 3-4 years

Lip Gloss: Sephora: 18-24 months

Powder: NARS Blush: 2 years

Concealer: Benefit Play Sticks: 1 year

Foundation: No 7 Stay Perfect: Water based - 12 months, Oil based - 18 months


Gel & Cream Cleansers: Cetaphil: 1 year


Sunblock: Aveeno: 1 year
